On February 18th 2018, there was an event to celebrate the inauguration of the Marcie Mitler Portal to Dance Fund.

The family and friends of Marcie Mitler, along with Eliza Mallouk and The Dance Complex, are pleased to announce the inaguration of The Marcie Mitler Portal to Dance Fund. Throughout her lifetime, Marcie danced among us, always with a smile, sharing her respect for humanity and a passionate belief that we are better humans through bringing dance to life.

In her daily practice, and in her role as co-producer with Eliza of Across the Ages Dance Project, she encouraged all to dance, no matter what age or perceived barriers. With the Marcie Mitler Portal to Dance Fund, we honor Marcie's legacy with: an ongoing award, given to dance projects that further Marcie's beliefs in dance; and, with a specially designed stained-glass window, inspired by Marcie's life to be installed at The Dance Complex, we honor her with a permanent portal to dance named for her, welcoming all.
